What is a cleanroom pass box?

A cleanroom pass box is a transfer chamber installed between 2 cleanroom areas or between a cleanroom and a non-clean area. It is used to transfer materials, tools, and supplies without opening cleanroom doors, thereby significantly reducing the ingress of dust particles and microorganisms.

Operating principle of the pass box

• Open the door on Area A and place the materials inside the pass box.
• Close the door - the interlock system is activated.
• For dynamic pass boxes, clean air is blown through a HEPA filter to remove surface contaminants.
• Open the door on Area B and retrieve the materials.

☞ This procedure helps maintain pressure differentials and cleanliness classifications between adjacent areas.
